ABOUT

 

Stephen Greenwood is co-founder and CEO of Ballast Technologies Inc., the world's first Aquatic Virtual Reality company.

Ballast has enabled over 600,000 paid customers to have transformative sensory / neutral buoyancy / thrill ride VR experiences in water and on waterslides.

Prior to founding Ballast, Greenwood served as the Director of Creative Development for Discovery Digital Networks, leading a team of creatives that strategized and produced content for Seeker, Sourcefed and DiscoveryVR.

Greenwood has also held positions as the Associate Creative Director at Reddit Inc. and Vox Media Inc. – and was a founding partner of Vox Media's now legendary video studio in 2011. 

He began his career as a freelance travel journalist and producer/editor for AOL, Virgin America, and many high profile private clients after receiving a B.A. in Design & Media Arts, and a B.F.A. in Film, Cinema and Video Studies from University of California, Los Angeles.

Having traveled to 57 countries (and counting), he currently lives in San Francisco.
